Introduction:
ArcCanada -- Schools and Libraries Edition Version 2.0
ArcCanada is a large database containing a number of cartographic and
thematic layers, at continental, national, provincial and local scales.
The data has been broken down into four broad categories:
National
Level Data
- Cartographic layers, the Land Potential Database, Ecological Zones
and Regions, Earthquakes and Fault Lines, Census Divisions and a wealth
of statistical information at a variety of scales.

Provincial
Level Data
- Cartographic layers, Soil Landscape information, Geological layers,
Digital Elevation Models, and Statistical information at the Census
Subdivision level.

Continental Level Data
- Some of this data is divided
up by continent and covers statistics such as economic and industrial
indicators, education and literacy, food production and nutrition,
health and vital statistics, labor force characteristics, natural
resources and the environment, and population characteristics. There
are also cartographic layers which pertain to each continent.
World Level Data
- This is a shapefile that
contains a variety of different statistical and demographic variables
for each country.
Specialty Data
- At the local scale we have Kingston, Ontario, including some statistical
and business data.
