Continental Level Data

Each continent has its own shapefile which can be joined to several tables to add statistical information on economics, industry, education, literacy, food production, health, labor force characteristics, natural resources and population characteristics for each country.

This data (excluding Geology) was generated from the ArcWorld data set which comes with the Schools and Libraries Bundle. This 1:3 000 000 (1:3M) level database contains data needed to generate thematic maps of the world at the country level. For ease of use, the data has been organized by continent.
You can also refer to the ArcWorld User's Guide & Data Reference for further documentation.

* Cartographic Layers
Waterbodies, cities, railroads and more!

* Geology
The general geology of the world is a simplified geological data set composed of geographically referenced rock units and fault lines. This data was provided by Natural Resources Canada.

* The Continental Boundaries
The ArcWorld data set is a collection of data for each country in the world. For ease of use we have divided the world into its seven continents. Each continent has its own shapefile. This shapefile does not contain attribute data but can be linked to the attribute tables below for further statistical information.
